Grown only on the Big Island of Hawaii, the unique flavor of pure Kona coffee Beans are recognized by coffee aficionados as one of the world's classic single origin coffees. Smooth and mellow, our pure Kona coffee is delicately balanced with a lively finish, reflective of our farm's high elevation and deep volcanic soils. One of the world's classic coffee origins, produced exclusively from a traditional strain of typical (one of the world’s oldest coffee varieties) selectively hand-picked, and wet-processed, using the traditional ferment-and-wash method. This classic heritage is reflected in the fundamental Kona cup, with its gently lively acidity and high-toned, clean complexity. Nevertheless, the complex micro-climates of the rugged Kona terrain and variations in husbandry and processing among its defiantly idiosyncratic farmers has created a fascinating array of variations on the basic Kona Coffee, ranging from sweet and simple, through sweet and delicately complex, to exhilaratingly fruity, to (at the highest growing altitudes) grandly austere and acidity. ABOUT ME:I've been an avid home coffee roaster since 2004, always searching for high-quality, socially-responsible, and environmentally-sustainable green coffee beans. When I find them, I love to share them. I buy only current crop year, and move it from warehouse to my house to your house as fast as possible. I keep prices as low as I can. I'm retired, and this is my hobby business. Prompt and personal customer service is my commitment. I'll try to answer any questions, and give advice to start-up roasters. Just ask. I stock coffee grown on farms that pay fair wages, practice sustainable agricultural, and improve their community. I've traveled to coffee-producing regions, and seen how people live. Growing coffee can and should improve people's lives and respect God's creation. Through my importers, I can document where the coffee comes from, and how that farm operates. I summarize that info for you above. Returns:If you get the wrong coffee, or found it defective or damaged during shipping, I'll gladly offer you a refund or replacement, if you return the entire order before roasting within 14 days. Since good coffee is a matter of personal taste preference, and a great coffee can suffer from small mistakes in roasting, please don't ask for a refund after you roasted it and aren't crazy about the results. But please rest assured! I don't sell any coffee that I haven't already roasted myself, brewed, consumed, and greatly enjoyed.

The soil, climate, and conditions in Honduras are the same as neighboring countries. There is a range of coffee quality from Honduras; the country can produce a lower-cost Central American blender coffee, to high-grown specialty lots that rival more popular Central American coffees. This particular type is more complex than its HG counterpart; thus making it a specialty coffee. In the past, Honduran coffee growers trafficked their beans into Guatemala; where they would sell for a higher price, because of Guatemala’s coffee reputation. After government tax on coffee exports started to play a role in the coffee business, the country boosted production and dramatically improved their coffee quality. Since then, demand has increased and selling coffee across the border has become unnecessary. Presently, coffee producers and Honduras government have made it a mission to improve the quality of coffee. Laws have been passed giving fiscal incentives to coffee producers and highways have been built to access remote coffee growing regions. SHG (Strictly High Grown) specifies that the coffee was grown at an altitude around 1350 meters. Coffee grown at a higher altitude and lower temperature produces a slower maturing fruit and a denser bean; which creates a more desirable specialty cup Cupping Notes are gathered by using the cupping method to get a general idea of what natural flavor notes a coffee contains. Flavor profile will vary between different brewing methods and roast profiles. For Best Results it might be necessary for the coffee to degas 24 - 48 Hours when it arrives at your location to release trapped gases from within the beans which is a result from the roasting process.
