Guatemala Antigua SHB Arabica Coffee With Guatemala being the world’s 8th largest coffee producer, the largest Central American producer, and a major supplier to the United States, it is no wonder why Guatemala is one of the world’s top coffee origins. Coffee trees were brought to the country by Jesuit priests in 1750. German settlers developed the industry in the late nineteenth century. Most production is located in the south where volcanic slopes are the ideal place to grow the high-quality Arabica Beans. The Strictly Hard Bean coffee is among the best quality coffee you can get. Coffee grown at high altitudes are known as being the best because it increases the acidity of the bean, and because of the high altitude, the nights are often cooler which slows down the maturity of the coffee plant allowing the beans to develop to a more complex flavor. The Antigua Valley is one of the oldest and best-known coffee-growing regions in Guatemala. The volcanic soil provides additional nitrogen to the all ready rich soils. Cup Characteristics: This Great Guatemala Antigua Arabica SHB coffee features excellent complex flavors, more than any other Guatemalan coffee. The Antigua also offers a more full and smoky flavor, rich aromas with hints of fruit and floral notes. Definitely recommended!...All of our roasting is done per order and free grinding is available upon request. Lavanta Coffee Roasters is a 2nd generation coffee company focusing on Specialty Coffees. Started by an immigrant who worked extremely hard to earn his citizenship, Lavanta Coffee initially was focused to put bread on the table. After a few years of hard work, Lavanta hired additional personnel to assist with the increased workload and graduated to have 5 roasters spread over it's 3 global roasting facilities. Lavanta now focuses on giving back to it's origin farmers by offering Direct Trade, Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance & Organic coffees as well as puts an extra emphasis on sourcing from women coffee farmers. Today the Lavanta Group moves over 1.6 million pounds of coffee on an annual basis to 6 continents however keeps our original 100+ year old roaster, a 4 oz coffee roaster, to remember where it all began. All of our coffees are roasted to order by the Founder's direct family members and are guaranteed fresh. Our officers continually travel the globe to ensure that every container of coffee purchased by the Group is fairly sourced, properly processed and guaranteed fresh. Unlike many of our competitors who sell coffee from a garage or are just resellers, we have enclosed a copy of our Department of Health Certificate to show that our 7,000+ square foot facility is a fully approved food licensed facility. Every one of our employees are required to take food safety handling tests to ensure safe and proper handling of your coffees.
